Serviceability check, removal and installation of gauges of system of cooling

FAN THERMOSWITCH

 SERVICEABILITY CHECK

1. Check of serviceability of the switch is described in Section serviceability Check, removal and electrofan installation.


 REMOVAL

1. The switch will screw in the left part of a radiator. Before to start its removal, allow to the engine to cool down.
2. Disconnect a cable of weight from the battery (on models Scenic address to the Head an engine Electric equipment).
3. Partially merge a liquid from cooling system so that its level has fallen below the switch. Alternatively, pick up approaching заглушку and закупорьте an aperture under the switch in a radiator after its removal. If the second method is used, work very cautiously not to damage a radiator.
4. Separate from the switch an electroconducting socket.
5. Accurately turn out the switch from a radiator and remove a sealing ring (where is available). If the liquid from system has not been merged, закупорьте an aperture under the switch.


 INSTALLATION

1. If the switch has been established with use of a sealing ring, replace consolidation. Where the sealing ring was not, clear a carving of the switch and cover with its fresh hermetic.
2. Make installation in return sequence. Tighten the switch and finish to norm liquid level in cooling system.
3. In summary, start the engine and allow to it to get warm to normal working temperature. Be convinced that the fan works within several minutes after warming up.

THE GAUGE OF THE CONTROL LAMP/INDEX OF TEMPERATURE OF THE COOLING LIQUID

 SERVICEABILITY CHECK

1. The gauge стрелочного the index / a control lamp of temperature of a cooling liquid is established in a thermostat casing on the left end of a head of the block of cylinders. On petrol models it is top of two gauges located on a forward wall of a casing of the thermostat, on diesel models the gauge is established in a casing end face.
2. Constant pressure on the temperature index moves from a feeding wire of the instrument panel (through the lock of ignition and the fuse). The chain of connection with weight стрелочного the index becomes isolated the gauge. The gauge contains the thermoresistor - the electronic component which electric resistance decreases at its heating. While the engine is not heated-up, resistance of the gauge highly and a current strength, passing through the index, is small, paternal the arrow of the device remains in "cold" sector of a scale. In process of rise in temperature of a cooling liquid and falling of resistance of the gauge, the marksman of the index moves to a scale upper edge. If the gauge is faulty, replace it.
3. Pressure on a control lamp of temperature of a cooling liquid moves from a guard of devices. The chain of connection with weight of a lamp becomes isolated the gauge. The gauge carries out a role of the switch which works at certain temperature.
4. If стрелочный the temperature index has failed, at first check up work of other devices. If they do not work, check up food giving on the instrument panel. If indications of devices изменчивы, the stabilizer is probably faulty and its replacement (the stabilizer is built in in the printed-circuit board of a guard of devices - address to Chapter 12) is required. If the temperature index is faulty only, check up it as follows.
5. If after warming up of the engine of the marksman of the index remains in "cold" sector of a scale, disconnect a socket of electroconducting of the gauge and earth a corresponding wire on a head of the block of cylinders. If now after inclusion of ignition of the marksman deviates, the gauge is faulty also it it is necessary to replace. If the arrow still does not move, remove a guard of devices (the Head the Onboard electric equipment) and check up resistance of conducting between the gauge and стрелочным the index, and also a feeding part of a chain. If a chain it is continuous, faulty itself стрелочный the index and it is necessary to replace it.
6. If the arrow of the index remains in "hot" sector of a scale after the engine has cooled down, disconnect gauge conducting. If now at inclusion of ignition of the marksman will return to "cold" sector, the gauge is faulty also it it is necessary to replace. If the arrow still does not move, check up the chain rest as it is described above.
7. Check of a chain of a control lamp is made similarly.


 REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

1. On petrol models removal and gauge installation are made similarly to the procedures described in paragraphs Removal and Installation (the FAN THERMOSWITCH).

2. On diesel models address to paragraphs Removal and Installation (the FAN THERMOSWITCH), remembering that the gauge fastens in a casing скобами. Press the gauge into a casing, then by means of a small flat screw-driver wring out fixing скобу and remove the gauge and a sealing ring. At installation, place on the gauge a new sealing ring, then press the gauge into a casing of the thermostat and attach it in working position скобой.

THE GAUGE OF TEMPERATURE OF THE COOLING LIQUID OF SYSTEM OF INJECTION OF FUEL - MODELS WITH THE PETROL ENGINE

 SERVICEABILITY CHECK

1. The gauge of temperature of a cooling liquid of system of injection of fuel is in a thermostat casing. It is bottom of two gauges screwed in a forward part of a casing (address to an accompanying illustration).

2. The gauge represents the thermoresistor. The electronic block of management (ECU) submits the engine/system of injection of fuel on the gauge certain pressure and then, measuring a current strength in a gauge chain, defines engine temperature. This information in a combination to other data then is used for adjustment of duration of injection. On some models turns of idling and-or a corner of an advancing of ignition also change depending on temperature.


 REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

1. Remove and establish the gauge, using the information presented in paragraphs Removal and Installation (the FAN THERMOSWITCH).
