Replacement колодок back brake mechanisms

Колодки it is necessary to change on both back wheels simultaneously - replacement Pads only on one wheel will lead to unequal braking. The dust formed at deterioration колодок, can contain unhealthy asbestos. Never blow off its compressed air and try not to inhale. Do not use for clearing of components of brakes mineral solvents, apply a special cleaner or methyl spirit.


 REPLACEMENT

1. Remove a brake drum as Removal, survey and installation of drums of back brake mechanisms is described in Section.
2. Having accepted necessary safety measures, accurately remove from a drum, a basic board and колодок a dust formed as a result of deterioration колодок.
3. If any from колодок it is worn out till the minimum thickness specified in Specifications, all four Pads should be replaced. Колодки also are subject to replacement, if at least one them it is polluted by oil or greasing as to clear it it is impossible.
4. If unequal deterioration or pollution is found out, find and eliminate the reason before installation new колодок.
5. If a condition of all components satisfactory, establish, establish a brake drum as Removal, survey and installation of drums of back brake mechanisms is described in Section. To replace brake Pads, operate as follows.

ALL MODELS, EXCEPT SCENIC

 REPLACEMENT

1. Sketch position колодок and each of springs, and also a backlash regulator to facilitate the subsequent installation (address to an accompanying illustration).

2a. By means of flat-nose pliers, remove basic cups of springs of racks колодок, having pressed them and having turned on 90 .

2b. Remove springs and take basic racks колодок (address to illustrations).

3. Cautiously let out Pads from bottom шарнирного knot to remove a tension of the bottom coupling spring, then disconnect a spring from both колодок (address to an accompanying illustration).

4a. Let out the top ends колодок from the working brake cylinder, trying not to damage its consolidation, and disconnect from conducted Pads a rope of a manual brake. Remove assemblage разжимной laths and колодок from a basic board of a drum-type brake. Do not press a brake pedal, yet will not collect a brake.

4b. Establish on the brake cylinder a hard elastic band that it did not leave pistons (address to illustrations).

5a. Having placed assemblage разжимной laths and колодок on a workbench, let out the terminator of the lever of a manual brake (if it is not executed yet) separate fixing spring of a bolt разжимной laths from the leader Pads.

5b. Disconnect the top coupling spring.

5c. Then separate conducting колодку and a coupling spring from conducted Pads.

5d. Cнимите a spring, having remembered its arrangement (address to illustrations).

6. Take a bolt of a regulator from разжимной laths and attentively examine assemblage on presence of damages and deterioration signs, giving particular attention to a carving of a bolt and a regulator castor. Replace them if it is necessary. Pay attention that разжимные laths of the left and right brake knots are not interchangeable. Bolts of laths it is possible to define on number the protocheck for a fillet of a castor of a regulator: the bolt of the left lath has two проточки, and the right bolt - only one (address to an accompanying illustration).

7. If new Pads are not supplied by the lever of a manual brake, rearrange it with old колодок. Attach the lever new скобой. It is necessary to replace all coupling springs, irrespective of their condition.
8. Be convinced that components on the end разжимной laths are established correctly, then put on a carving of a bolt of a regulator a small amount of high-temperature greasing. Screw a regulator castor on a bolt so that between it and a bolt head there was only small interval, then establish a bolt in a lath.
9. Pick up a short hook of a fixing spring разжимной laths to conducted brake колодке. Attach a lath to the spring end, then place it in a cut conducted brake Pads.

10. Fasten the top coupling spring to conducted колодке. Attach the leader колодку to other end of a spring and displace the leader колодку downwards so that the head of a bolt of a regulator has got to a corresponding cut. Fasten fixing spring to the leader колодке (address to an accompanying illustration).

11. Remove an elastic band established on the brake cylinder. Unbend rubber protective wings and check up the working brake cylinder on presence of damages and tightness. Be convinced that both pistons easily move in the cylinder. Address to Section Removal and installation of the cylinder of the back brake mechanism if it is necessary, replace the brake cylinder.
12. Before installation, clear a basic board of a drum-type brake and put on contact with колодками surfaces (especially on pistons of the cylinder and bottom шарнирный knot) a little high-temperature greasing or antitaking компаунда. Do not use too much greasing, differently it can get on a brake overlay Pads.
13. Be convinced that the terminator of the lever of a manual brake rests against edge conducted brake Pads.
14. Place assemblage разжимной laths and колодок on a basic board and attach a rope of a manual brake to the lever conducted Pads. Establish the top ends колодок on pistons of the brake cylinder, then fasten to колодкам the bottom coupling spring and insert them in bottom шарнирный knot.
15. Centre Pads on a basic board. Establish basic racks колодок and their springs and fix their basic cups.
16. By means of a screw-driver turn a regulator castor разжимной laths so that diameter of the circle formed колодками, has made 202.5 - 202.7 mm.
17. Place a drum into position, but yet do not establish a nave nut.
18. Repeat the procedure described above on the second back brake mechanism.
19. After replacement колодок both back brakes, adjust a backlash between brake overlays and drums, serially applying a foot and manual brake. Ask the assistant to be convinced that разжимные laths function correctly (by pressing of a pedal the regulator разжимной laths should click).
20. Remove drums and adjust a manual brake as it is described in Section Adjustment of a manual brake.
21. Establish brake drums (address to Section Removal, survey and installation of drums of back brake mechanisms).
22. In summary, check up level of a brake liquid as it is described in Section the routine maintenance Schedule.

Take a bolt of a regulator from разжимной laths and attentively examine assemblage on presence of damages and deterioration signs, giving particular attention to a carving of a bolt and a regulator castor. Replace them if it is necessary. Pay attention that the left and right laths are not interchangeable and have colour labels.
10. If new Pads are not supplied by the lever of a manual brake, rearrange it with old колодок. Attach the lever new скобой. It is necessary to replace all coupling springs, irrespective of their condition.

16. Centre Pads on a basic board. Establish basic racks колодок together with springs and attach their basic cups.
17. Fasten the top coupling spring to conducted, and then to the leader колодке.
18. Establish the regulator lever on a reference point on колодке and fasten a lever spring.
19. By means of a screw-driver turn a regulator castor разжимной laths so that diameter of the circle formed колодками, has made 227.4 and 227.9 mm.
20. Place a drum into position, but yet do not establish a nave nut.
21. Repeat the procedure described above on the second back brake.
22. After replacement колодок both back brakes, adjust a backlash between brake overlays and drums, some times having pressed a brake pedal. Ask the assistant to be convinced that разжимные laths function correctly (by pressing of a pedal the regulator разжимной laths should click).
23. Remove drums and adjust a manual brake as it is described in Section Adjustment of a manual brake.
24. Establish brake drums (address to Section Removal, survey and installation of drums of back brake mechanisms).
25. In summary, check up level of a brake liquid as it is described in Section the routine maintenance Schedule.
